Apply for 2025 NEHA Travel Grant

Apply now for the New England Historical Association Research Travel Grant. We recognize how challenging it can be to obtain funding for historical research. We give one grant each year for up to $1250 to meet the costs of travel and research at libraries, archives, museums, parks, and other historical sites. The grant will be awarded in February 2025. In Memory: Peter Holloran

NEHA acknowledges with sadness the recent passing of NEHA member and former executive officer Peter Holloran (1947-2023). Dr. Holloran was a Vietnam veteran and social historian in the area of 19th century American History, including the history of child welfare services, history of immigration and labor movements, and the American Civil War. He was the author of Boston’s Wayward Children: Social Services for Homeless Children, 1830-1930; Historical Dictionary of New England; and Historical Dictionary of the Progressive Era.
