Attention NEHA Members! We could use a few additional participants on our two prize committees. Contact NEHA President, Beth DeWolfe at UNE Biddeford if you are interested in participating on either one. Both involve mainly committee work by email, the chance to read the work of outstanding scholars both established and emerging, and the satisfaction of helping to contribute to excellence in scholarship among our membership and in our region! Please consider being involved!
Responsibilities: read submissions of books nominated by publishers for the NEHA Book Prize, awarded to the best book published in 2012 by a historian living in New England, and as a committee select one winner. Committee business is generally conducted by email.
Timeframe: submissions are due to the committee by June (you’ll receive the books in the mail), and a decision is reached over the summer, with the award given at the October meeting with ample notice to the winner so she/he can be there in person.
Graduate Student Paper Prize Committee

Timeframe: papers are being solicited now & will be read/discussed over the next few months and the summer. Award may be given at the October 2013 meeting with ample notice to the winner so she/he can be there in person.
